It is safe to say that COVID has impacted everyone in some capacity. But for parents who care for a medically complex child, COVID has caused far more challenges than imaginable. Due to staffing issues with home health care, the Kinkley family had to make the decision between working or securing safe, reliable care for their daughter, Jayna, who lives with several medical complexities. Jayna requires around the clock care, which hinders her parents from being able to maintain full time employment. With changes in working schedules and Jayna’s ongoing medical needs, finances became tight. A scholarship from Growing Wildflowers will help ease some of the financial stress of the Kinkley family.
